A trip to Schutzen Park in Hoboken Heights (West Hoboken, but actually in Union Hill - see notes) is described on 701-704 and includes three engraved illustrations: A German Beer Garden, Hoboken; The Schutzen Stand; Hoboken Lager. The text starts with the last paragraph on page 701. The event was a german festival and covers several aspects of it.
n.b.: West Hoboken was not part of the City of Hoboken. Residents of the City of Hoboken would have been among the people in this story.

Notes: Schuetzen (for indexing) A privately owned park in North Bergen, N.J. Established at least as early as 1874. It was originally part of the town of Union Hill which merged with West Hoboken in 1925 to become Union City. It was very well-known venue to Hoboken residents. Many events were held there by Hoboken organizations especially those whose members were of German ancestry. Hoboken had many fraternal organizations, clubs, churches and sports groups related to those with German heritage (the German-American Volksfest has taken place there annually since 1874.)
