Scope and ContentArchive of documents related to the City of Hoboken, Hoboken Historic Commission, 2003-2008. Ca. 5 cubic feet. Items are selectively imaged. This group is not an official archive of this city body. Items include meeting agendas, submitted applications and supporting documents, submitted letters and related materials. The bulk of the material is 2005-2008. It does not include minutes and other records that have the actions taken by the body such as votes, tabled items, old business, etc. (or even if the meeting actually took place; e.g. lack of a quorum or other reason for postponing the meeting.) Documents are organized by month generally with the agenda followed by the materials accompanying it that were sent to each commissioner prior to the meeting for their evaluation. On some agendas, there are checkmarks or 'okays' on some listed agenda items which were applications listed by address. Format of documents are usually letter size; support materials if larger were folded as sent and as received here (some drawings or plans are as large as 24" x 36" architectural prints.) They are stored as received at this time. Materials are catalogued by box and folder by using extensions to the primary archive record number: 2008.077.0001.x.xx. in which the first 'x' is the box number and second group, 'xx', is the folder number, e.g. 2008.007.0001.1.01 is box 1, folder 1. By this method, the greatest detail will be available for reference.
