Album with gilt stamped and tooled brown leather covers; watered silk beige doublures; black ribbon ties; 10-1/8"high x 12-3/8" wide x ca. 3/8" thick. Six leaves engrossed with watercolor or gouache decorations; cream translucent paper guards. Text in German, untranslated.
A memorial tribute to Wihelm J.D. Keuffel, a founder of the Keuffel & Esser Co. which had operations in Hoboken from 1875 onward including the transfer of the General Offices from New York to Hoboken in 1907. Keuffel was a board member and once president of the Hoboken Academy (or Akademie) which was a German-language school established in 1860.
