Black-and-white photo of a fire at the Windsor Wax Co. building, 617 Newark St., Hoboken, no date, circa 1932-1937. 8" x 10" print. Photographer is not indicated, but was probably a photographer for the Jersey Observer newspaper based in Hoboken.
The fire appears confined to be the top floor. Truck no. 4 of the Hoboken Fire Dept. is in the foreground.
Address on building sign is 617 Newark St. (between Monroe and Jackson Streets), but address was 611-617 Newark St. in a 1946 directory. Telephone directory address as of 1951 and later was 611 Newark St.
In the right background is an embankment with Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad tracks; an engine is seen on it.
