Instant Maxwell House Coffee ad: For People Who LIke Good Things the Easy Way. (Tashlin gold prospector artwork.) Full-page black-and-white magazine advertisement by General Foods Corporation, (N.Y.) as published in Life, April 19, 1948, page [113]. Clipped leaf, 9-5/8" wide x 13-3/8" high.
Hoboken was the location of the largest Maxwell House Coffee plant at this time (one of four factories) and was owned by General Foods.
A 2-ounce glass jar (2 ounces stated on label) is depicted with the pebbled suface. Artwork is a comic cartoon by Frank Tashlin of a prospector with his mule; he holds a stack of gold bullion as he exits a tunnel he excavated into the Fort Know gold repository behind him.
