Arm patch, Paper Trooper, and 3 chevron stripes from the War Production Board given to Katherine Marinovich of Hoboken for collecting scrap paper during World War II, ca. 1943-45. Impregnated cloth printed in yellow and blue. The patch is 3-1/4" in diameter and the stripes are ca. 3" wide.
Drives to collect scrap materials were a major school activity in World War Two. Donated by Marinovich who attended Joseph E. Brandt Junior High School, Hoboken, where she was a member of the Brandt Paper Troopers (see photo catalog 2002.235.0006 for a photo of this group). She stated that each stripe represents the collection of 100 pounds of scrap paper. She collected 400 pounds in all.
