Photographer not indicated, but the source was the Schnackenberg / Novak families whose apartment and restaurant, Schnackenberg's Luncheonette was directly across the street at 1110 Washington St. It is considered that the photo was taken by a Schnackenberg family member. View is east from an upper floor. Back has contemporary pencil notes: Blizzard of '47, 25 inches of snow. The blizzard of 1947 started on December 26 and continued to December 27; New York City snow storm total was 26.4 inches.
