SPECTACULAR PIER FIRE THREATENS OCEAN LINERS
Several ocean liners at the piers along the North River, Hoboken, N.J., were threatened when the Lamport & Hold pier was destroyed and others damaged by a spectacular fire which burned for hours before brought under control. The fire started in a shanty 100 feet away from Pier 15, spread under the flooring to the pier and soon ignited quantities of crude oil on the piers. This spectacular picture show the fire at its height. EDITORS -- WATCH FOR LATEST WIRE NEWS.
