Letters, two, on letterhead of the Sweets Corporation of America, Inc. (Tootsie), Hoboken, N.J. 1939; 1940.
1: Typed carbon letter, signed, Nov. 10, 1939; to Lee Transportation Lines, 304 Spring St., New York City, Attn: L.M. Gabrielan, President, from Neil M. Smith, re truck distribution points.
2: Typed letter signed, January 31, 1940; to same addressee as letter 1 from Smith re delivery of specific order to Schenectady.
Both leaves are the same company stationery printed in red and chocolate brown, 8-7/16" x 10-7-8" high. The top has a vignette view of the original factory on Willow Avenue from Fifteenth to Sixteenth Streets, street address of 1515 Willow is not stated on letterhead. (The company moved into these buildings in 1938; the larger building on the left was expanded in the early 1940s by new construction on the Willow Avenue side in a modern style.) Their primary product, "Tootsie", is prominently displayed in large type next to the vignette.
Across the bottom are depictions of four product displays for retail sales: Tootsie Rolls (shown in 2 different styles of boxes - left one has 1 cent price); Tootsie Pops (also 1 cent price); Tootsie Caramels (or Caramel - packaged in five cents units).
