Commemorative medal: Official Souvenir. Semi-Centennial Celebration, March 28th [1905]. 1855-1905. City of Hoboken, N.J. Corporate Seal. Two-piece molded metal with brass gold finish, overall 2-1/2" high x 1-1/2" wide. Top piece pin clasp bar with eagle and lettered "Official Souvenir." Lower piece connected to top with two chains, 3 links each, has the other text surrounding the Corporate Seal. Outer portion is a laurel wreath decoration.
Back has manufacturer's mark: The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J.
This object once belonged to Karl Theodore "Ted" Scholl (born Hoboken, June 24, 1918 at 158 Fifth St.; deceased August 6, 2008). His father, Carl Scholl died in the the year of his birth of influenza.
